Clean Your House Like a Pro After Thanksgiving

For sure, everyone loves the holiday season. Who doesn't? Only the cold-hearted are bitter about being jolly. However, I will understand and give consideration to those who hosted the Thanksgiving and were left alone with a huge mess in their homes.

Although I'm not exactly on the same boat as them since I didn't host any Thanksgiving this year, I know it's really frustrating to be left with a mess to clean up after hours and hours of fun time. I guess this happens to me all the time whenever I celebrate my birthday that's why I understand the dilemma close enough. So here's what I usually do after a long day of celebrating a special occasion and being left with turmoil to deal with for the rest of the night.

1. Start in the kitchen and dining room
The part of the house that looks so pitiful and messed up the most is always the place where the food was. Start by putting away leftovers in the fridge and recall plates that your guests left on the table. Once you have everything, you can start tossing them in the dishwasher.

2. Arrange small stuff
Are your throw pillows all over the place? Are your home ornaments now propped in a slightly awkward, different angle? When your living room is looking like your messy bedroom, pick up the dirt and start organizing it because you don't want your home to look like a pigsty.

3. Sweep and mop the floor, vacuum the carpet
Sure, professional carpet cleaning is recommended every year. But debris from your recent party that fell to the floor or on the carpet should be cleaned ASAP. It isn't very tidy so clean it up before they accumulate and make cleaning harder in the future. However, if there are spills and stains, you might want to call for help and get a carpet cleaning service now.

The Bottom Line
From cooking to cleaning, hosting is surely a tiresome duty to do. But at the end of the day, it's always worth it to spend quality time with friends and family.
